Acclaimed artist Eric Fischl will be at Galerie St. Etienne for one night only, discussing how the role of drawing has changed over the last century and share insights into his own process.
The talk with Jane Kallir, Galerie St. Etienne co-director, is being held in conjunction with the gallery’s current exhibition: Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Featuring Drawings from the Robert Lehman Collection. Fischl will discuss the show in the context of his own work and other current exhibitions such as Finished/Unfinished at the Met Breuer. “Eric’s appreciation of drawing as an exploratory process is very much in keeping with the issues raised by the Kirchner show,” Kallir said.
Eric Fischl is an internationally renowned American painter and sculptor. His extraordinary achievements throughout his career have made him one of the most influential figurative painters of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
