International pop artist Romero Britto will be launching a newly curated exhibition of his work on Friday 10th June 2016 in London.

As one of the leading names on today’s contemporary art scene, Romero Britto’s work is celebrated across the globe. He will be in attendance to launch the exhibition at Castle Fine Art’s South Molton Street gallery from 6pm-8pm, where a selection of Romero Britto limited editions, original works and sculptures will be on show.

To mark this special year – the Queen’s 90th birthday – and the forthcoming June celebrations, Castle Fine Art will be showcasing two pieces created by Romero Britto in honour of Her Majesty. As a board member of the Prince’s Trust, Romero Britto’s connection to the Royal Family is longstanding, having previously participated in several royal events and even gifting Her Majesty the Queen a portrait in honour of her Diamond Jubilee which she now keeps in her private collection.

Brazilian‐born and Miami‐made, Romero Britto has exhibited in 30 countries across 4 continents, and collaborated with some of the most famous global brands including Coca Cola, Bentley and Disney. He has captivated audiences worldwide with his art that, as The New York Times described, “exudes warmth, optimism and love.”

The self-taught artist was inspired by the works of Matisse and Picasso in his youth, before finding fame in America in the 1980s where Pop Art was flourishing.

Explaining why optimism is the source of his artistic influence, he said: "Art can make you look at something in an exciting and totally different way. It can give you the power to 'fly'. I get my inspiration from simple things in life…from beautiful things that happen around me, things that make me happy and leave me inspired!”

In 2007, Romero Britto exhibited the largest ever public installation in Hyde Park, London, with his monumental pyramid sculpture reaching over four stories in height, has recently been invited to be an honorary torch bearer for the Rio 2016 Summer Games and is a benefactor, donating time, art and resources to more than 250 charitable organizations.

Ian Weatherby-Blythe, Managing Director of Castle Fine Art, said:

“Romero Britto is one of the most celebrated artists of our time – expressionistic and vibrant, his work is universal. Drawing upon Cubist and Pop Art influences, Britto has created a new and inspiring trademark style recognised the world over.

“This new exhibition of highly sought after original pieces and popular signed limited editions show will appeal to a wide range of collectors and art lovers alike.”

Romero Britto will be in attendance at Castle Fine Art, South Molton Street, 42 South Molton Street, London, WK1 5RR between 6pm-8pm on Friday 10th June to launch his new exhibition.

Britto’s signed limited edition artworks are exclusively published in the UK by Washington Green Fine Art and stocked nationwide by Castle Fine Art, including the South Molton Street gallery.
