Galerie Eric Mouchet presents Machination(s)
Galerie Eric Mouchet announces the collective exhibition Machination(s) curated by Aurelie Faure, unveiling what is hidden behind the passion of young artists for machines and motors in all forms of machination. The process of breaking down a machination and understanding the function of a machine requires us to see the elements that compose and activate it along with the developments that creates it. The showcase aims to produce tools for thought suitable to the growth and awakening of free judgement and critical mentality.
Machination(s) takes place in a research space that rotates around previously unseen installations from Thierry Liegeois and Nicholas Tubery, who both practice sculpture and videography. The work of these artists in turn helps to provide a genuine framework for Machination(s), which is composed of two sections both autonomous and transversal. These artwork passages play a key role in opening access to the second part of the exhibition, which is dedicated to broadcasting the documentary storytelling of Pierre Gaignard, Louis Henderson, Stephen Loye, Armand Morin and Louis-Cyprien Rials. These artists are witnesses of a world with cameras in the palm of their hand where truth does not exist anymore.
The exhibition seeks to confront differing points of view and mediums prioritising the transversal between artistic disciplines. For a month Galerie Eric Mouchet will become an emporium that dissolves the border between public and private space. Because artists, just as politicians use music and movies, Machination(s) also explores other forms of communication with its own radio station “Radio Stella” hosted by Katarina Stella and Etaïnn Zwer.
